Varied Offerings
Our success in the Telecommunication sector drove us to look beyond – at industries showing opportunity and potential. Our first venture was Taphouse by RnR in Colombo, in 2012, at the renovated colonial heritage complex – Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct. The former colonial style architecture had the lifestyle vibe to attract a diverse customer segment. The concept was a relaxed ambiance complete with locally-inspired drinks and appetizers.
The second Taphouse by RnR opened in 2014, within the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Galle Dutch Fort, bringing this uniquely Sri Lankan concept to the tourism capital of the southern coast. Throughout this expansion, a dedicated forty-member team worked tirelessly to create an entertaining dining experience within a creatively designed environment.
In 2019, Chesmi invested in its first luxury rental property, CASAMIA Nilaveli in the East coast. The apartment, complete with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and luxury amenities, is available for short and long-term lease. Under the umbrella of CASAMIA Oceanfront Condos, this apartment has direct access to the famed Nilaveli Beach and comes complete with an outdoor pool and garden, satellite TV, free WiFi, fitness center and restaurant.
CASAMIA Colombo was Chesmi’s second investment into real-estate made in 2020. With a beautiful vista of Colombo’s skyline, it is ideal for corporate and family travelers. It is available on long-term or short-term rental. The apartment is replete with all modern amenities including an outdoor pool and garden, free WiFi, recreational facilities and free private parking.
The other key project currently in focus is our exclusive luxury boutique villa located on Sri Lanka’s spectacular Southern coast. Slated for completion in 2025, this development project in Tangalle will cater to high-end guests and is aligned with the
Government’s vision to attract luxury travelers to Sri Lanka.
With tourism poised for a resurgence, and the country pulling out all stops to ensure that the hospitality sector becomes a
collaborative partner in pushing tourism to new levels, Chesmi seeks to tap into investment opportunities in this industry and grow our portfolio.
